From day one in the time I have been on this board, the ONE thing I have consistently said/stated is that with Trump, the issue is not so much the "issues that are important to Americans" but the handling of those issues by Trump.

In my personal opinion, I have stated repeatedly that Trump is so incompetent that him being president can only bring negative results to our nation and to Americans..

Having said that, I am not the only one that has him rated as "Incompetent"

Competence questions pose risk to Trump’s political image

President Donald Trump regained the White House in large part by trumpeting his ability to get things done, accusing his opponents of ineptitude and senility and promising that on Day 1 he would restore basic competence to government.

But 2½ months in, agencies such as the Social Security Administration have struggled to provide basic services. Trump’s team issues edicts, then reverses them. A leaked Signal chat suggests top security officials were unfamiliar with the basics of protecting military secrets.

Crucial government workers have been fired, then rehired. A much-ballyhooed immigration detention center at Guantánamo Bay has faced logistical problems. Trump’s team told laid-off workers at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to contact a particular individual if they felt they were being discriminated against; she turned out to be dead.

These and other missteps are now being compounded in dramatic fashion by a roiling stock market and bond sell-off prompted by Trump’s tariff policies, raising fears of a collapsing economy. Trump’s formula for calculating the tariffs has been widely panned by economists.

In addition to the above, I have shown Trump's incompetence throughout his life, repeatedly here on this board:

So far, in this year, he has continued to mostly FAIL. His bringing down the illegal immigration problem has been mostly a success, even though he has created a lot of new problems that could have been avoided by being more keyed on the scalpel approach, instead of the hacksaw approach. Nonetheless and putting that success aside, and rating him for his overall successes and failures, his failures continue to be more than his successes.

Failures

1) Improving affordability of living for Americans
2) improving health care and health costs
3) Improving the competence of those he has put in charge of the government departments
4) Improving the unity of Americans to work together
5) Improving the economy
6) Improving the disastrous national debt
7) Improving the friendship with our world allies
8) Improving our faith that the people representing us in the government, have our best interests in their hearts
9) Improving the laws that protect us from abuse
10) Improving the income inequality that besets this country.

Successes

1) Curtailing illegal immigration
2) Helping some wars to end
3) Increasing funding for NASA exploration

It is evident his failures outpace his successes, especially when it comes to most of the things that affect American's everyday lives and needs

Trump's DJIA broke the 50,000 barrier for the first time in history Friday. The DOW has risen 18% since the 2024 election. How could you, a self-appointed financial expert, have missed this huge story?

I really don't think this booming stock market is a good thing. As I have often heard Republicans say, the market is not the economy.

Total market capitalization over GDP, the "Buffet Indicator". That number is now insane. Like over two hundred percent. In other words, it would take two years of everything this economy creates, to buy the stock market. WTF? And that is all businesses, public and private. That means lots of things, but to me, that is a huge weight for this economy to be toting around.

Oh, and regarding the stock market rally. The same percentage rally amount occurred under Obama and under Biden. I gave that information on a different OP, with the exact percentage rally amounts between 32% and 34%. As such, the rally in THIS market under Trump, has not been extraordinary. It has been the same as the other presidents.

Well let's go all contrarian and give you the real deal on the stock market. First, buying stocks is not investing, it really isn't. It is savings, period. You are buying a piece of paper and hoping to sell that piece of paper at a gain at some future date, SAVING.

There is no investing going on. It is savings, mixed with gambling, there is some risk to principal. In all reality, that market capitalization is "parked", and like in most cities, that parking comes with a meter that has to be fed nickels in the form of return, like, say, dividends. I mean once you accept the fact that stocks are savings vehicles, not investment, you start to understand the Paradox of Thrift. The market is a drain on the economy, not some all powerful measurement of its strength.

After 4 years or real total incompetence his seems minor.

MORE FAKE NEWS
Same tired and boring rant .

This is the poster who selected one stock from thousands as his Free Grift which has fallen so far it is almost out of sight .

Whereas , Gold and Silver, my humble selections have risen in parabolic fashion .

Oh Mucky , you are such a lame Ducky .

Obviously, this is a slanted perspective. What else is new?

On the matter of "competence," one must understand the objectives of the person being evaluated in order to assess his competence. With a few major exceptions, Trump has accomplished the vast majority of his stated objectives, and in many cases, his objectives are still not known by the general public because his negotiating strategy is to conceal his objectives while he pursues them. For example, what is his end game in Iran, Venezuela, Greenland, Cuba, Ukraine, and Gaza? All are unclear, except to his inner circle. But time will tell, and if history is a guide, he will probably get what he wants, and it will be a positive change.

Here's a question for ya: Did the southern border become a figurative highway rather than a border because Biden was incompetent? Or was that his plan? You tell me.

Every one of your so called "failures" is a lie, especially compared to W, homO, and Traitor Joe.

Bottom line, the country is doing much better at Trump so, apparently, he is VERY competent.

You are blind-by-choice

As of January and February 2026, the assessment of whether the U.S. economy is performing better under President Donald Trump’s second term compared to when Joe Biden left office in January 2025 is polarized and depends on which economic metrics are prioritized. While the administration points to cooling inflation and rising wages, other indicators show a slower job market and increased national debt.
Key Economic Indicators (January 2026)
  • Inflation and Wages: The White House reported that inflation slowed to 2.4% in January 2026, a decline from higher rates, and argued that real wages increased by 1.25% between January 2025 and January 2026. Some reports indicate that for those with jobs, the labor market has seen wages outpacing inflation.
  • Job Growth: 2025 was described as the slowest year for U.S. job creation since 2003, with some analyses indicating a slump in private-sector job creation compared to the final years of the Biden administration. However, some data from early 2026 suggested a rebound in monthly job gains.
  • Manufacturing and Trade: Despite promises of a manufacturing boom, manufacturing employment saw a decline in 2025 following the introduction of new tariffs. These tariffs are projected to act as a significant tax increase on GDP, with potential long-term, negative economic impacts.
  • Stock Market: Markets rebounded from early 2025 volatility to reach near record highs by early 2026.
Public Perception and Economic Forecasts
  • Public Opinion: As of late January/early February 2026, public opinion is divided. A Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll found that roughly 53% of voters believed the economy was worse off under the new administration, while 47% believed it was better.
  • Economic Outlook: Forecasters generally expected modest job growth for 2026, with some potential for a pickup in the latter half of the year due to tax cuts and lower interest rates. However, there are significant risks to this outlook.
In summary, the economic situation in early 2026 presents a mixed picture: inflation has cooled and wages have risen, but overall employment growth has been slower and manufacturing has struggled compared to the previous administration's final period.

Trump hasn’t had 20% inflation like Biden had.

Trump hasn’t had 20% inflation like Biden had.
I am totally sick and tired of that unfair assessment. If you do not stop saying that biased and not-inclusive-of-factual-extenuating-circumstances bull-shit, I will stop communicating with you.

In December 2023, inflation was at 3.4% and in December 2024 it was at 3.0%

Now it is at 2.4%. The inflation seen in the period between 2021 and 2023 was not Biden's fault, at least not to the tune of more than .5% due to his policy.

If you cannot talk reality and all you talk is politically biases lack of facts, then you are not worth talking to. You have been warned!

Lol Joe Biden and competency weren't even in the same hemisphere

In the news, Trump's SOTU spin on drug prices "mathematically impossible"

Last night, Donald Trump used his State of the Union to gaslight the American people about prescription drug prices, but for millions of Americans standing at the pharmacy counter, that picture bears no resemblance to reality. Independent fact checkers quickly called out Trump’s lies. From national outlets to local newsrooms, they made it clear that there has been no sweeping drop in what people are actually paying out of pocket. They underscored that many of the discounts Trump touted don’t apply to people with private insurance, don’t change the cost at the pharmacy counter, or don’t apply to drugs that already have cheaper generic options. And they pointed out that claims of prices falling by 100 percent or more aren’t just exaggerated — they’re impossible.

While Trump may have patted himself on the back, the facts tell a very different story. Seniors are still struggling to cover medication costs. Parents are rationing inhalers and insulin to make ends meet. Patients with chronic illnesses are still often forced to choose between filling a prescription and paying the rent. The applause lines may have resounded in the chamber, but they don’t lower prescription drug costs at the pharmacy and Trump has done nothing but line the pockets of pharmaceutical companies.
