COLORADO: Springs barbershop owner files lawsuit over aid for minority-owned businesses.
A Colorado Springs barbershop owner has filed a federal lawsuit against state officials claiming COVID-19 relief for minority-owned small business that was recently approved by the Colorado legislature is unconstitutional.
Equality Before The Law
The owner of Locals Barbershop, Etienne Hardre, claims that the $4 million in relief aid for minority business owners is discriminatory because access to the funds is solely based on race.
There is only one Race, the HUMAN Race
Governor Jared Polis, who is named in the lawsuit, signed the relief aid bill into law on Monday. Hardre is also suing Colorado’s Minority Business Office and its director.
Make 'Em Pay
Hardre claims the state fails to show how it would prevent discrimination or racism when choosing how the funds are distributed.
Our Standing Before Government Is Not Dependent On Skin Color
The lawsuit, which seeks to remove the minority requirement, says the barbershop owner has lost 33% of revenue and wants to apply for all available state aid. However, the barber says because he is white the state won’t provide him funds for minority-owned businesses.
Hurt everyone with bad policy, then play favorites with the relief in order to assure reelection — have we had enough?

Is that why so many minority businesses received so much stimulus aid, oh wait they didn't. It is only equal when black businesses don't receive anything.

So I guess when Trump was bragging on opportunity zones for "black businesses" and yall were cheerleading it -- that was all bullshit...

Cool....
Those were for impoverished zones, and while they may have been majority Black, and had the opportunity to massively improve the lives of Blacks within the zones, no one was denied assistance base on skin color, like this Barbershop Owner in CO.

Those zones were impoverished because of SKIN COLOR, for generations......

Your bitch fits over a haircut is why most folks have so little respect for conservatives constantly trying to find a reason to claim victim -- and they do this for the explicit purpose to roll back the policies that addressed that denial based on skin color....

But on a brighter note, Trump opportunity zones were just a scam to put money in the pockets of the wealthy, not so much to "help" black communities..just another conservative grift

I noticed that you did not contest the point that under Trump's Empowerment zones that NO ONE was denied assistance over their skin color like this CO Barber was.

Fake News, the GOP just had a fabulous election, you guys? Not so much.
... roll back the policies that addressed that denial based on skin color....
Exactly, as Justice Roberts wrote for the Majority: The way to stop discriminating based on skin color is to stop discriminating based on skin color!

Maybe if there was truly equity under the law and only one race there would be no need for aid to minority owned businesses...
There is a lot of stealing and corruption with government programs. It is not that simple. And yet it is.
