All across America overpaid government employees are demanding higher taxes and giving thr money to themselves

And the taxpayers are pushing back

We should throw the bums out and apply pay cuts to government employees rather than raising taxes

You will become like Canada. With such massive paydays, especially in policing; the motivation of evil men to manufacture threats to ensure they have a career will be prevalent. These cowardly men will not go to heaven, however, they will do great harm here on earth when they spread their evil. The more someone can easily take from others the less they will care about them. Without conseuences and accountability the waste will be excessive.

That's been going on for ages in the UK. Council tax rise at full % each year and the quantity and quality of council services gets less. It's at an all time record worst because of the current government.

I sort of like the idea of cutting off 1/3rd of the street lights.

A new "parkway" was built in my AO and that damn thing is lit-up like a Super Max prison with the attendant light pollution at night.

Nobody lives along it so it makes no sense to have it lit-up like that. What, so people can take a midnight stroll along it?

I mentioned it to one of the town councilmen and he told me that the transplants would raise hell if they cut some of them off.

This is how the Democrat Party treats Democrat voters....
Democrats raise the costs of living so they can blame it on Republicans.

If you want to save electricity get rid of all of the traffic lights and put in roundabouts.

Cut off a $100 (power use) street light or install a multi-million dollar roundabout.

Decisions decisions. :laughing0301:
Just imagine the savings and the jobs created by putting in roundabouts at every intersection.

I know it's a novel idea......but it becomes a necessity when the power grid drops during storms.

I prefer reducing the pay of city employees instead of cutting services

Yes those city workers are so ungodly wealthy on the massive salary they get to plow our streets, puck up our trash, keep our streets safe, put out our fires, etc.

Poor babies, they have to do some work for their check.

They have lifetime jobs plus generous healthcare and retirement pensions

Trust me

If we cut their pay they will ***** and moan, but they wont quit because they’ve got it made

Our town employees are reasonably paid (I guess) and they are not unionized. They do good work and show-up when you call about something.

I'd rather save some money by trimming back on unnecessary streetlight use than trimming back on town employees to save the same amount of money.

The city was clearly trying to punish the voters for not giving them a raise

For instance cutting off street lights sends a message not to piss off the government

They did this in another era at reasonable costs.
