ABC is owned by Disney, home of the famous little Colored Mouse who was not allowed to be shown on TV in the South in the 1950's. Obama has been on the Late Night show a few times, at NBC. CBS News is coming in from way behind, having lapsed back to White Male, of appearance. The ratings improvement has been noticed, already. Then there is cable, and so there is CNN. Here in the link we can see how progress has been made!

Exit polls: Christie and McAuliffe took different paths to victory - CNN.com)

In most national poling, usually about 1/3 of respondents have never heard of Governor Chris Christie. The polls have apparently, never asked about catching a glimpse. . . .of the hugs(?).

CNN, however, in the exit polling, noted that 80% of blacks went for the Democratic Challenger, somehow spotted in New Jersey(?). We are told that hugs mean a lot, in New Jersey(?), or something. In fact, we were told that a lot, in just a few minutes, from New Jersey: Hours ago! Somehow, CNN online has been able to note how really critcal that will be for the Republican Party, going foward(?): The 20% black vote, for Chris Christie(?).

Now, there we are showing some progress(?)!

About half of New Jersey's top Democratic Party leaders supported Christie. Union members split between the Democrat and the Republican. Blacks were 19% of the vote, with Hispanics at about 9% of the vote. Christie is Conservative, and Conservatives unanimously came out for Christie, if they were GOP identifiers. Tea Party types did not turn out for the Democrat.

In contrast, for the Democrats, the turnout effort likely made the difference. The total turnout may have been a record, for Virginia, in their usual off-season governor's race. The Republicans managed to energize the Democrats in the North, with the federal shut-down. The Administration managed to energize the rural Republican areas with the Health Plan roll-out.

Any Democratic turn-out effort in New Jersey appears to have been muted--possibly to help the Democrats de-energize the Tea Party for years to come. It would not be expected to have much of a turnout if half the party leaders are for the candidate, GOP. Money gets better spent in places like Virgina, no longer Red State-Led. Virginia is now an inroad to be GOP Overcome, reversing a too-long trend.

Yes, it is informative and trend turning.

(1) attack ACA but don't shut down the government

(2) do not run TeaPs for major state and government positions

People voting for Christie had a tendency to associate him with a recovering economy, which is likely a local abberation. In Los Angeles, Nov. 5 was actualy Aqueduct Centennial Day. The Los Angeles Times ran a backpage picture of some water, all about it, just today(?) The Times even showed a picture of a local councilmember, carrying a life-size picture of Mulholland up a hill. Mulholland had been the engineer in charge of the far-sighted concept, and the outcome. That was a local event, even then.

Los Angeles would not have happened. . .including all its wonders. . .without the Aqueduct. Even the mayor of Los Angeles probably went to a centennial celebration, somewhere, about it. Governor Brown apparently did not, and he is kind from around here, in Los Angeles. More likely he did get a lot more exercise in City of Oakland--living in the part of it, he did.

The Aqueduct would be thought far reaching, of 100 years ago. Mainly it was a local abberation. John Kennedy was nominated for President at the Democratic Convention in Los Angeles. The Aqueduct had nothing to do with it. Nixon was from Los Angeles, and likely that had way more to do with it.

Christie is so far a lot more vapid than Nixon. I actually listened to about five minutes of the need for New Jersey hugs: Only hours ago. Even the WWE woman, occasional candidate for office: Is likely more likely into body slams(?). WWE even comes to Venice Beach, in California, where they do that. . .and near the San Adreas. Anyone might expect Chris Christie, to tag along, even with that.

(Sea gull Vomit In Great Salt Lake so far not shown big tourist draw, to the "Middle of Nowhere" as the English see it(?)! Romney maybe not bring that kind of subject up, even when running the Olympics!)

The only reason why Christie won was because he threw the GOP under the bus during the 2012 elections which skyrocketed his approval with democrats and independents. He may do OK in Jersey, but he will not stand on the national level.

.

As I understand it, the GOP doesn't need blacks, hispanics, women, moderates, squishes, fence-sitters, independents or RINO's.

So no, I wouldn't worry about this.

.

about 1/3rd of this nation our conservative. Get someone like Cruz in 2016 and watch your party lose.

You need moderates
you needs woman
You need some Hispanics....

This is how you form a party.

Christie and the sane Republicans.

America does not want the TPM, period.

Christie has the formula; he showed respect, stayed away from the bastards who hurl bigoted generalizations about Blacks and minorities, shows that he's independent in his thinking and attitude, and doesn't have that insane hateful attitude toward Obama. In fact, he criticized Obama when he disagreed with him and praised him when he agreed with him. That shows fairness and it paid off for him.

It seems to never fail that any republican I like, many republicans on here dislike.

How did he allegedly "throw the republicans under the bus"?

The need Christie because he can reach out to the middle.

Christie was running against a woman who wasn't running at all. Maybe black people can't be counted on to vote for a woman.

If Christie can reach out to the middle and siphon off democrat votes he doesn't need conservative republicans to vote for him. He has it bagged without those votes.

Over 50% of Hispanics. ;)

Christy would by far have the best chance at winning.

In order to get nominated, Christie will have to take positions in the GOP primaries that he'll spend the rest of 2016 trying to run away from.

Oh, and btw, does anyone remember the last northeast moderate Republican who was going to tear it up in the primaries and win the GOP nomination?

Rudy Giuliani...lol
