My California refugee roommate is a TSA agent, he said there's a lot of talk "up front" with some "outsiders" trying to play off that the guy having no carry-on and a gun in his luggage should have been some kind of tip off or something - AKA there is an impression that they're trying to blame TSA for letting the guy fly out.
Total crap imo. This is Alaska, there are people that fly all over without luggage or carry-ons (Snowbirds [folks who live up here in the summer and else where in the winter] for example have everything at their separate homes and travel with next to nothing, especially around the holidays when they've just come up to visit - they mail their packages home specifically so they can travel light.) It's 100 times more common on the small flights to the bush - hunters & fishermen go out with nothing but their guns (maybe a tackle box) because they keep all their supplies and shit at their cabins. Folks that are hopping to the slope often travel with little more than the clothes on their back, etc.
I'm going to be really irritated if these twits scapegoat airport personnel over this, it's not the ******* ticket ladies job to assess why a persons flying with what. Sadly I think that's what is going to happen because I have a strong feeling this guys a Syrian refugee (that Obama dumped on us) and the D's don't want to admit their ******* mistakes (see "Russian Hacking")
