Speaking in Virginia at an event for the US Navy’s 250th anniversary Sunday, President Donald Trump did not mention the state’s lieutenant governor, who is the Republican nominee for governor.

It was a noteworthy snub of Winsome Earle-Sears, a retired Marine, during a speech in which Trump praised some Virginia Republicans who have served in the Navy, including Reps. John McGuire, Rob Wittman and Jen Kiggans.

What do they think? That "Marine" is a rank or position in the Navy? Like "I was a Boatswain's Mate in the Navy." "I was a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy." "I was a Marine in the Navy!"

The Marines, though part of the Navy Department, have their 250th birthday in November.

That would be like celebrating the Air Force's 250th birthday with the Army, claiming they are soldiers.
