Like all high schools, the one I teach at has tons of clubs. There is a club for just about every interest students might have or identify with. Each club has to have a staff sponsor (basically supervising the club). So, in addition to everything else, I'm supervising the Asian-American Club and the Arabic Club. It is certainly not hard work, but it means staying at school later which equates to much worse traffic on the way home. I roll in late and have to help the older boy with his homework, take him to lift, teach him a few more wrestling techniques, and read with the younger boy. Then I get to prepare my lessons for tomorrow, etc. Makes for a full day.

Observing an Algerian student teaching Arabic to a couple of Haitian girls is interesting from a linguistic and pedagogical point of view.
