The problem with hearing a politician echoing your thoughts is that you know that they are only doing it to get your vote.

All politicians are liars, without exception, because it is part of the job description and a prerequisite for getting elected.

Looking at what a politician has done in the past is a far better predictor of what they will do in the future. Looking at who are their advisers and who those advisers worked with before will tell you what kinds of priorities that politician will have once elected.

But what comes out of their mouths is nothing but expediency.

Politicians are elected civil servants, nothing more. I do not seek their leadership.

The citizens are the government.
