The NY Times has been an enemy of the truth ever since they ran a series of reports from the Soviet Union by Walter Duranty praising the "worker's paradise" Stalin had established even as millions of people in the Ukraine died (starved to death) from the genocide created by good old "Uncle Joe".

Its the washington post thats being sued, not NYT.
And anybody can file a lawsuit regardless of whether its valid or not; nobody considers this winnable.
