This isn't surprising. China wisely decided to control American politicians primarily through California. They also worked NY as well to a large degree.

Good for them. If you dare not call them out, arrest people, enforce laws and prevent their activities, why wouldn't they exploit our politicians?

They've been doing this in Canada as well, CSIS leaked it due to desperation that our own government didn't care. They actively influenced elections and even had perhaps a stooge working for them, though he denied it and has since sued the government for this.

China has also had spies in Australian and New Zealands government. They will exploit as much as they are allowed to exploit.
