Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson credited his city’s economic accomplishments to his “diverse administration.”

Johnson bragged about his administration while speaking at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago, Illinois, on Sunday. He detailed his office’s diversity statistics a few months after President Donald Trump signed three executive orders that effectively wrought about the end of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
“Two administrations ago, 70 to 75% of the administration was primarily made up of white men. In my administration, 45% of my administration is black, 25% is Latin, 30% is white, and 8% is Asian. It is the most diverse administration in the history of Chicago,” Johnson said.
“What I’m saying is, when you hire our people, we always look out for everybody else. We are the most generous people on the planet. I don’t know too many cultures that have play cousins. That’s how generous we are. We just make somebody a family member right? That’s just how we are,” Johnson said.

Chicago’s Business and Economic Neighborhood Development Deputy Mayor, the head of the Department of Planning Development, Infrastructure Deputy Mayor, Chief Operations Officer, Budget Director, and Senior Advisor are all black. Johnson claimed they are focused on pursuing the interests of black people because it “hasn’t happened.”

Meanwhile, Chicago Public Schools is under investigation by the United States Education Department over its Black Students Success Plan for prioritizing black students’ academic success over the rest of its struggling students. Other schools across the country are similarly continuing their DEI initiatives in open defiance of the Trump administration.

In 2023, the Apostolic Church of God also hosted then-Vice President Kamala Harris for a speech. At the time she also lamented that the majority conservative Supreme Court had “an agenda to attack the importance of diversity and equity and inclusion.”

Huge Dem-run city on verge of bankruptcy thanks to ultra-generous public sector pension scheme

By SONYA GUGLIARA FOR DAILYMAIL.COM
Chicago's projected budget deficit is a whopping $982.4 million, according to The Civic Federation.

Despite several tactics to save the city from bankruptcy, politicians have failed to get to the root of the issue - increasing pension payments to Chicago's more than 40,000 public employees.

'Retirement benefits are like free junk food to politicians - everyone loves them, and the bills don’t arrive until later,' Andrew Biggs, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, wrote in a New York Times opinions piece.

'They can be ruinous for a city’s long-term fiscal health.'

Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson's latest attempt to reduce the city's debt - a proposed $300 million property tax increase - was shot down by City Council.

The City Council passed a budget this month with far less tax ramp-ups than Johnson wanted, Biggs explained.

In 2022, retirement benefits and debt service accounted for 43 percent of the city's budget.

Comment:
IL has high tax rates and it drives away businesses and people.
Being "generous" with other people's money is not genuine generosity.
If they continue to overspend it will drive away Businesses and Taxpayers and it will destroy their tax base.

Chicago has been corrupted by Democrats for decades reaching back to the first quarter of the 20th Century....
