One more thing that has gotten to be the norm these days is always deflecting to some other past president, as if that pardons the present one.

In addition and more importantly, this OP is about the extremes and the change of Norms. Something can always be found to criticize another president as we are all human and fallible. Nonetheless, what other presidents did, that is to be criticized, was not the norm but the exception. This president, doing all of this (lying, abuse of power, going against what the Constitution stands for and is accepted law) is now accepted as the right thing to do.

As such and if you are to deflect to a past president as doing wrong, then you first have to accept that Trump is doing it wrong also, or the opposite and say "hey, Trump did it and therefore Obama or Biden where right in doing it as well!

I do not ever deflect. I always face reality.

Pardoning one's son is actually a "normal" thing to do by a father, especially if he "thinks" his son is not guilty. Parents ALWAYS give the benefit of the doubt to their children.

Pardoning a convicted felon where it has been proven without a shadow of a doubt his guilt in the crime, and not being related to that person (not knowing that person personally) is totally different!

I did not vote for Obama because at the time I was not voting at all (had not ever voted before until Trump came on the scene and started to mess things up in unforgivable and permanent way). Nonetheless, had I been voting, I would have voted for Obama. I liked him a lot and to this day, I still like him!
