1. Find the dimensions of the faceplate.
2. Find what "1 x 1 x 1-inch" dimensions pertain to.
Good luck.

It's Amazon. They only put in half assed efforts...

It's obviously 1" wide X 2.25" high, with a diameter of 0.875" and an adjustable backset of 2.375" or 2.75"... it's clear as day...

Us this, realizing that most interior and exterior doors for residential use are bored & routed standard and the edged bore is more often than not, having rounded corners, as it it indeed routed with a circular bit. Knob being 2-1/8 hole bore/2-3/8 backset, with a 1 inch diameter edge bore where the stand backset latch is installed. This diagram will help with the faceplate dimensions if you are going to cut it in, with a wood chisel.

Where did you get the 2-1/4" height of the faceplate?

How about the 1 x 1 x 1-inch dimensions. ????

It is just a standard. Not all faceplates are exactly the same. Not uncommon for a trim carpenter install knobs on standard door units to knock out the difference with a wood chisel. All the interior doors in my house were assembled by, Madison Millwork / Huttig Sash & Door. I installed in my house new slabs and did notch the faceplates to meet the height of my Master Lock levers, as I was the lock buyer for the branch. It is better to be undersized in height at millwork jobber/wholesaler, than oversized, if you want to have an exact fit on the job.

Master is out of business. I have changed to Schlage on my exterior, when I replaced patio door unit. The faceplate of the deadlocking latch below the deadbolt, does infact measure 2 1/4. As a matter of fact, the Master lock lever into my library where I am typing, also measures 2 1/4.

I was the buyer on door slabs, locks, hinges, jambs etc from all suppliers, for the wholesale millwork branch I worked for, up until the Bush crash, when I did not choose to accept moving halfway across the country, to stay with the corporation, then known as Huttig Building Products.

Back set and faceplate and faceplate dimension's.... standard door latch... the backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the borehole....
Faceplate dimension's are 1" x 2-1/4"... the last in is for the depth of the borehole.... to the doorknob cut out...
