my 7 year old rescue, big grey/black/white male would hardly ever go into my bedroom and my bed freaked him out for some reason
he knew missy his entire life who died 2 weeks ago, now suddenly he's coming around more often and actually taking a nap on my bed right now
my other rescue a ragdoll wants to be downstairs with my wife who he is very bonded with so teeger has nobody but me

sadly he's never been a lap cat, too much barn cat in him apparently

Your cat is grieving and needs you to comfort him.

A year ago, Speck got cancer and died. Michelle, the cat in my avatar, she of the Evil Cat Breath beat him up daily. She wouldn't let him on the bed, pushed him out of the way to eat first and slapped him around every time she saw him. When he died, Michelle grieved horribly. She refused to eat no matter what food or treats she was given. She lasted two weeks and joined him.

Please help your cat through this trying time. Your other cat is looking for the same kind of sympathy from your wife. They have lost a friend, a family member and it hurts.

Cats are amazing creatures.

wow, I at one time had that many but they are slowly hitting that age as I had a few rescues in a short term.
I seriously am thinking of trying to pick up a young male for my 7 year old male so he has somebody to chase and play with, he's lost without anybody around now
I would like a lapcat and those are usually females but not sure how he might react to a young female [fixed], if she's small she might be scared he will just beat her up constantly, it's a tricky situation and any cat from the pound you kinda have no idea what you might get. I just don't want a mean cat that was abused and has bonding issues or just hides all the time
I am been lucky to never have a cat that was just outright mean and trusted nobody, don't want to start now

Our cat is Mink. She wants human companionship. Khwanjai misses her humans when we leave the house. Each of our now deceased cats loved to around their humans.
