I started a thread years ago about famous castles, but I wanted to start a thread focusing on scenery of places I've been, or places I'd like to go before I kick the bucket.

Went to Elon Doran and several other castles in Scotland this year. I'm not a Scot but last fall I looked at the wife and said I've never been to Scotland and the next thing I knew she was booking us for a tour around Scotland. Started in Glasgow and ended in Edinburgh. Then we spent another two weeks, at my insistence going down to London, Stonehenge, Lancaster, etc,...

It's been several years, but I was in London and went to Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London.

I had a great time.

Out of all the places in the United Kingdom we visited I want to spend more time in Edinburgh. In a couple three years plan to go back and visit Wales and Ireland but will end up in Edinburgh and hopefully be able to attend the Tattoo again. We tried getting through the Scottish section of the Edinburgh museum and didn't quite make it through which leaves all the rest of the museum; science, natural history, etc,... that we didn't even get through and the Scottish section only makes up about a forth to a third of the museum.

Then there's the art museum, royal palaces, authors museums (there's a lot of those since authors loved Edinburgh. Sir Walter Scott, Sir Author Conon Doyle, etc,...) and other places to go.

When I was living in San Diego CA they had a pub called "The Patriot Game" that I liked to visit.

Live music and decent food.

Great atmosphere.

They're touristy, but Edinburgh castle in Scotland and Blarney castle in Ireland are pretty amazing.

Also, Hearst castle in California is pretty cool.
