‘“President Donald Trump’s tariffs against Canada and Mexico will threaten production at automakers across North America and send record vehicle prices even higher, with about a quarter of a trillion dollars in trade set to be disrupted,” Bloomberg reports.’

Trump’s reckless, irresponsible, unwarranted trade war.

This thread didn’t age well…

I was just looking at new Volkswagen's the same time the tariff news broke, it helped make up my mind to not buy a new one. I'm tempted to buy anyway but now I'm going to just see if the price goes up on the GTI, currently the 2025 can be had for $36K.

Oh I am sure they will use it as an excuse now that they can't blame COVID regardless.

Fake News!

Meh. One more straw on the camel's back. A few more people will be priced out of the car market. We will eventually be done with cars and go back to bikes, horses, and maybe camels.

Camels aint happening. Maybe skateboards make a comeback.

The domestic car industry knows that their prices are already too high, and are slowly rolling out discounts to move the iron (20% off the top on Jeep Gladiator). What's another three grand?

A Jeep could be free off the lot and the buyer still goes broke paying for repairs, like many modern vehicles. Just Empty Every Pocket.
