Here's a thought. Some of us have just recently stumbled on a tactic we use to avoid getting upset at people talking. Now be ready for this, because it's revolutionary and very few practice it effectively, but boy does it work to increase peace and happiness. This is what we do when someone is saying things we disagree with:

1. We check to be sure they're not giving inconvenient truth that we need to deal with.
2. If they're just saying stuff that we don't like and we know is wrong, we............DON'T PAY ANY ATTENTION!

I know, I know, who would have imagined it was really that easy? We don't comb through someone's bio, looking for mud we can throw, we don't spend a lot of time and effort making sure people who wouldn't know us from a hole in the ground if they walked past us know that we don't like them, we don't strain our brains to come up with childish or racist insults to hurl, thinking they represent the height of intellectual discourse, we simply ignore them. I can confidently say I've not heard more than 50 words come out of Rachel Maddow's mouth, and I'm smarter and happier because of it.
