Canadian gun “rights”

I'd keep it....Most of the Hosers will too if past history around gun confiscation up there is any indication.

That aftermarket metal "cheese grater" handguard makes me weep. ;)

I figured you'd be the expert

The question is not what honest citizens will do with their guns but rather what will thieves, rapists, drug traffickers, terrorists ect do with theirs?

Will they be good little progressive libs and turn them in?

I know they wont

Since virtually all the gun violence is committed by criminals with already illegal guns, gun crime will not be affected by confiscating guns from law-abiding citizens
The FBI reported 14 million crimes in 2024. US population is 340.1 million. Violent crime accounts for 1.2 million. In your lifetime you have a 1 in 315 chance of being a gun victim. Wet're getting into tiny percentage figures here. You're not even anywhere near 1%. So where the gun nut theory you're drowning in criminals with guns?

The psychology behind guns is -

If you feel small, or weak, or underachieving, then you want to own a gun to give you the feeling of power over other people. Paranoia, anger, and insecurity gives the person social anxiety and owning a gun is a quick and simple solution, but they're the most unsuitable person behind a firearm. It creates a shoot first, ask questions later scenario.

Most gun deaths are from suicide

So you miss the point

Gun deaths in the US are about a 50/50 split, which makes the chances of gun crime against you an even smaller percentage. Honestly, you didn't even realise you're arguing for even less gun crime and a less reason to wander the streets armed.

Unless libs drive me completely out of my mind and drive me to suicide the chance of my dying for any reason except murder by a democrat on drugs is infinitesimal

Well, is it 30% to 32% of Americans that are gun owners? It would be interesting to know what percentage of that is based on them thinking they need to arm up for self defence. Then how many of those "actually" needed to use the gun for self defence. The number is smaller than the odds of being struck by lightning, so basically, a waste of money. I wonder what percentage of those that don't own a gun don't because they know of the self defence fallacy.

In fact, there's probably a myriad of dangerous things with greater odds than being shot that folk don't do anything about, but they bought a gun to save themselves. Studies have shown that there's often discrepancies in reality and people's perceptions in many areas. Gun self defence is one such area. Then it would be interesting in knowing their political orientation, IQ etc..

You do realize this is a story about Canada don't you? M-1 Carbines are legal in the US. Many of us have them.

I am fully aware that a minority maliciously abuse their opportunity to own a firearm. Some, from other lands, are often quick to lecture, opine and decry the access that Americans have to firearms. It is that history of ownership that prevents us from being as they are, subjects.

Because most folk know that the odds of needing to be armed for self defence is a fallacy, less want to shoot animals, folk enjoying holidays rather than shoot tin cans off fence posts, and fewer people need to compensate. When most of you guys just belch out "Rights" 1 million times each per day, it simply highlights an obsessive behaviour. You guys should read up on OCD and see what your doctors can do to help.

OCD? Yet here you are daily whining and attempting to justify the confiscation of my property in the US while you sit in the UK. LOL

You are the one obsessed, obsessed with admonishing us, who in modern times has surpassed y’all as an economy, as a society, and enjoy freedoms and liberties that you folk could aspire to but for your self imposed limitations.
The OCD is yours, who runs ranting and raving into every thread with the same rubbish whenever the firearms subject is broached.
