Gov. Gavin Newsom and Democratic legislative leaders vehemently oppose an anti-retail theft measure on the November ballot. But they’re being ignored by California voters who support the proposal overwhelmingly.

Maybe voters don’t know about the governor’s and lawmakers’ strong opposition. Or maybe they do and don’t care. They’re following their own instincts and thinking that California — again — is too easy on bad guys.

The pendulum apparently is swinging back from left to center on crime and incarceration. Three decades ago California was over on the right with the war on drugs and tough three-strikes sentencing for repeat felons. Then we gradually moved left by dramatically reducing punishment. Opinions continue to sway.

The support numbers are stunning for Proposition 36, sponsored by the California District Attorneys Assn. It would increase punishment for theft and hard drug offenses and impose required treatment for repetitive criminal addicts.

It will be interesting to see how George Soros and Newsome combine to silence the suffering of the citizens of California, but you know in the end, dictators rule, not the average citizen.

These people have no voice and never will have

Just a prediction.

I'm sure Gov. Good Hair is lining up judges on the 5th Circus to stay it if it passes.
In addition to a firing squad.

And if the courts don't give the DNC what they want with those judges, they will pack it with stooges who will.

It's the DNC way. When things don't go your way, assassinate, pack, convict, impeach or a combination of the four.

CA used to have 3 strikes (felonies) and you are out. Now look at them... what a shithole. Real estate is beautiful, it is the people that have made it ugly.

California voters continue to elect Dimocrat lawmakers, so they can just live with being the most expensive state to live in, dodging poop on sidewalks because of their homeless crisis, and out of control shoplifting and crime. Fuck them, they deserve exactly what they vote for.
