California is Moving Republican

CA has ballot harvesting... and I don't think they could get the number of harvesters they had in 2020 and 2022 because lets face it... the dems did a lousy job... and so the cheating was not near what it was in 2020 for example... I've said this for years... a liberal minority runs California because of unions and ballot harvesting and illegals voting due to motor voter....
Hell Newsom went through a recall and it looked like he was gone... then the harvesters with thousands of ballots showed up and saved the day... and the weak CA GOP said nothing and did nothing...

Anyone who thinks that California is nothing but leftists is just showing their ignorance. :dunno:

Don't forget that back in 2008, the majority of Californians voted against same sex marriage. It was overturned by the courts, but the point is, there are plenty of decent sane people in CA, believe it or not. lol

It's mainly the big cities (LA and SF) that are filled with the crazies. And I'm pretty sure that a good chunk of those who live there are not even native Californians.

The Central Valley and N. Cali has always been red.

The problem is SF, SD, and LA. They have more than enough population to override the red counties.

Every state has their blue big cities that operate against the will of the people

This is amazing. The contrast between Biden/Harris and Trump is causing Democrats to abandon their party.

It's murder, I tell you, murder! It is killing me laughing at the sheer, dire PANIC by the democrats! Trump hasn't done anything! He isn't even in office! Democracy is under attack!!! They have all the look of little boys caught smoking in the bathroom by their father who just came home early. :auiqs.jpg:

It's been frustrating to see so many of my friends and political colleagues leaving California for greener pastures ("red states") since the 1990s and the political landscape has reshaped as a result from competitive to dominantly in favor of the Democratic Party.

Here is a chart of party registration in California from the California Secretary of State and check out the trends...

Over the past 20 years, Republicans have gone from over 8% down to about 22% down in 2020 with the first uptick in closing the gap for this 2024 election, now down about 21%. That is still a significant number to for Republicans and like-minded people to overcome and I don't know expect to ever see a statewide candidate win for a Republican in the next 20 years and the state legislators are still a supermajority Democrat.

Republicans and/or conservatives always had a better shot at Propositions which don't as easily carry a party label which feeds into political prejudice you see in elected office contests. While the special interests will still dominate with funding for their initiatives, sometimes the underdogs overcome. 2024 saw some surprising favorable trends for conservative-minded people (not all, but some). But conservative-minded people will always be an underdog here.

The next chart shows some county breakdowns on which are the dominate Democrat strongholds vs. the ones more favorable to Republicans (Note: California has 58 counties).

There are a couple of hundred more pages of data if you're bored enough at the above link.

Yes, but there are a lot of normal folks like in Bakersfield and upper parts above

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has agreed to pay a fine for not properly reporting charitable donations tied to his candidate-controlled committee – Newsom for California Governor 2018, according to the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC).

Newsom violated the Political Reform Act by failing to timely file certain behested payment reports for sub vendor payments of more than $5,000 made between 2019 and 2024. In a settlement agreement with the FPPC, Newsom agreed to pay a $13,000 fine.
