I'm sure there are people in our state government who would love for us to do just that. This is not hyperbole. These people truly believe our money is really their money. If the state falls to ruin due to over taxation and the obscene amount of money owed the pensioners, as the house burns, these thieves will be asking for more. I've listened to people in cities going bankrupt and there is absolutely no compunction on the part of the pensioners nor the hired thieves who gave them their ridiculous retirements to keep demanding their money even as the cities begin to die. Services get cut, police take forever to answer even emergency calls, libraries close, streets lay in decay--and still these people demand their money. They don't bat an eye: "It's our contract. You owe us this money."

It's like something out of the Twilight Zone.

Last election Cali had about six different taxes on the ballot. They all failed. The state may want to raise taxes, but the people aren't interested, even democrats have to pay those taxes.
