There is a misconception about the phrase, "By your bootstraps".

Some people believe its just a way to call someone lazy. After all, if you hustle, you can pull yourself out of your troubles."

That is a real thing, and it does work, but you need a mature person's ability to be patient.

Anyway, how does one pull oneself up by their bootstrap?

Pulling up your bootstraps mean just getting it done. It doesn't have anything to do with being lazy.

That would be "getting the strap".......if you are lazy.
