This is how you take down a dictator without firing a shot. Maduro's days are numbered.

Trump orders blockade of sanctioned oil tankers leaving, entering Venezuela

"U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday ordered “a total and complete” blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela.

“For the theft of our Assets, and many other reasons, including Terrorism, Drug Smuggling, and Human Trafficking, the Venezuelan Regime has been designated a FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“Therefore, today, I am ordering A TOTAL AND COMPLETE BLOCKADE OF ALL SANCTIONED OIL TANKERS going into, and out of, Venezuela.”

Trump’s comments came a week after the United States seized a sanctioned oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela."

The "No blood for oil" tards will be here in 3...2...1...

Wait, I'm trying to grasp the insanity here. How did Venezuela "Steal" oil from us, exactly?

He's most likely referring to all the equipment and money US corporations put into those oilfields, before they were nationalized and those companies lost their assets.

"American corporations, alongside British-Dutch firms like Royal Dutch Shell, were instrumental in developing Venezuela's oil fields in the early 20th century, with U.S. companies like
Standard Oil (ExxonMobil) and Gulf Oil (Chevron) pioneering exploration and production after major discoveries in the Maracaibo Basin around 1922, quickly making Venezuela a global oil powerhouse."

Those oil fields were then seized and nationalized by former President Hugo Chavez, another Marxist.

"US oil corporations lost significant money as a result of Hugo Chávez's nationalization of oil fields in 2007, despite eventually receiving some compensation through international arbitration. The compensation awarded was a fraction of what the companies initially sought and far less than the projected future profits.

Key Impacts on US Oil Corporations

  • ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips refused Venezuela's terms to become minority partners in their projects and had their assets expropriated. Other companies like Chevron, Total, and Statoil accepted the new terms and remained in Venezuela with reduced stakes.
  • Significant Initial Losses: ConocoPhillips initially booked a $4.5 billion loss on its balance sheet. ExxonMobil had demanded as much as $12 billion in compensation for its nationalized assets.
  • Arbitration Awards vs. Demands:
    • ExxonMobil was awarded approximately $1.6 billion by a World Bank arbitration tribunal (ICSID) and $908 million by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which was significantly less than its demands. After accounting for debts, the actual cash payment was much lower.
    • ConocoPhillips was awarded more than $2 billion by an ICC tribunal and a later award of over $8 billion by the ICSID, bringing its total awards to over $10 billion.
  • Difficulty in Receiving Payment: The awards have been difficult to collect because of Venezuela's economic crisis, hyperinflation, and U.S. sanctions. The companies have pursued legal actions to seize Venezuelan assets, such as oil inventories in the Caribbean and shares of its US-based oil refiner Citgo, to enforce the awards.
In short, while the companies won large arbitration awards, they experienced substantial financial losses because the compensation did not cover the full market value or future profits they expected, and the actual receipt of the awarded money has been a long, ongoing legal battles."

Thereby proving once again, that in any way, shape, or form, socialism is theft.

Well, then you'd be wrong on that. Most of Venezuela's oil is owned by Citgo, which was a National Company before the Socialists took over.

Well tough shit for them. We're taking it back.

Good, most of it was going to China (4% of China's imports) through intermediaries like Iran.

That said the Chi-Coms have a lot in storage so the impact will be lessened in the short term.

I don't doubt that they have a lot, seeing how they're financing Russia's war in Ukraine.

Good thing Trump is choking off one of the Eastern world's oil source. The USMB board commies can't seem to comprehend that.

The operative word here is “sanctioned.’ What is a sanctioned oil vessel? It is not all oil tankers. So we will have to see what he means. No one really knows at this point.

Guy, a war against Venezuela will be an abject failure.

it will turn most of Latin America against us.

Good. Maybe they'll stop trying to sneak across our borders if they hate us so much.

Trust me, we know the destination of every oil tanker not only in that region, but anywhere in the world. This is done through a combination of intelligence gathering, analysis of its communication records, and the use of satellite imagery and data from maritime analytics firms that track the "dark fleet."

Firms like Kpler and TankerTrackers.com use satellite imagery to verify a ship's actual location when its transponder is off or "spoofing" a false location. For example, analysts confirmed the Skipper was at the José oil terminal in Venezuela by matching satellite images of the docked ship with the time its transponder was broadcasting a false location off the coast of Guyana.

I understand that the Chi-Coms have 5 years of proven oil reserves if imports were completely cut off at current consumption levels.

Think about that.....5 years! They hold 1.5% of the world's oil in their reserves!

I guess it's because, unlike the dems, they don't deplete it to bring gas down .25 cents a gallon. 😐
