Given the Muscovite ulus's historical pattern of eradicating the Novgorod Republic's culture, including the Pomor heritage, its current attempts to militarize Svalbard in direct violation of international treaties, and its invocation of the 'Pomor Islands' name – is this not a continuation of a 'ghazawat' style imperialist expansion, a calculated steppe-empire tactic to seize territory and erase indigenous identities, now being directed against Norway and the Arctic?
