Say Maw,I learn't me a new word yestereday at school.
Well Harold tell us all about it.
This word and Tammy Hall were not goot. They were like
bad folk in the Wild Wild West.Er close enough.
Harold I think you meant Tammany Hall.Which was a
society in a section of N.Y.city were an Irish Influx took place.
Like when Ma ?
Back in the late 1800's and early 1900's if memory serves,Harold.
Serves what Ma. ?
Serves up Bossism or the domination of a political party
by a Boss.Or Bosses.
Unlike today,huh Ma ?
Somewhat Harold,actually very close.
Too close for comfort ma.?
I should have stressed the mention of Domination by a
certain Party { Democrats }.
What's all that gotta do with Tammy Hall,Ma ?
It's Tammany Hall,Harold.
The long epic movie - Gangs of New York - { 2002 } gives a
look at that era and a place where violence and stark poverty
were located in particular.A nasty place like Five Points.
Like N.Y.city as of this summer,Ma.?
Yes,Harold.Like you said ... "too close for comfort" and getting
worse by the week.
So let's git some real cowboys and maybe a few Marshalls
and clean up New York.
Well this ain't Dodge or a McCloud episode,Harold.
You mean,ISN'T don't ya ma.?
No Harold I mean what I said ... this AIN'T Dodge.
Dodge what Ma ?
Those peas you fixed for dinner last night. They were
God awful. Not even the dog { sparky } would touch them under the
dinner table.
Just you wait till yer father gets home,Harold.
Fir what Maw ?
A good helping of more peas is what.
On account my p's and q's Maw ?
Yes Harold. You ask too many questions for a lad your age.
