My immediate observation about these threats and general reaction would trigger most of the posters here. But here's the latest on Peanut and Fred

I heard it was state licensed animal sanctuaries that complained the loudest and got the state involved.

Reminds me of the training weenies always lobbying against Right-To-Carry legislation to protect their soup bowls.

I'll spell out what I meant in the OP:

As a vegan I find the outrage over THIS squirrel and raccoon very odd. It reveals something about the human minds ability to compartmentalize and separate their own personal part in the abuse of animals under the care of Man

They were found to have rabies? That's "news" to me

Were they found to not have rabies? ... either way, the animals must die ... public safety is more important than your feelings ...

Generally it's illegal to take in a wild animal ... near impossible to find a veterinarian unless you're a regular zoo ... squirrels get rabies, so they have to be vaccinated if they're in regular contact with humans ...

Sounds like the Toxo talking ...

You hate plants? ... that's sad ... squirrel is good eatin' though 'coon not so much ...

Do you know what humans do to plant genitalia? ... it's truly awful ... that bread you eat was made with ground up babies ... ewww ... tearing out the female parts of plants and presenting them to your female to get access to her female parts? ... just rude if you're asking me ...

Those who killed Peanut and Fred are just plain evil.

As you eat your burger.
Have you really paid attention to the horror that animal goes through? Of course not. You've tucked that evil in a safe place where you don't think about it. But you will. I promise.

A tiresome debate about animal cruelty? Been there, done that.

Everybody forgets Fred. They loved Fred too. Hope they win big
