He was born down the road from me in Canonsburg, PA, and they have a couple of prominent signs honoring him at the entrances to that lovely little town.

I enjoyed his songs when I was young - the chicks LOVED him - and I was a little bit surprised to learn that he had set up shop in Las Vegas, and had become a Big Thing over there, crooning to all the old ladies who fondly remembered his music.

Did he die or something? He turned 90 a few months ago, and gave up performing due to a bad case of shingles.
