Blowing Up Darwin

This is why we read in Romans
What’s the best way to coerce someone toward doing what you want? Fear!
Scare the “hell” out of them. Tell them that an eternity of suffering awaits if they don’t follow your proscription and back those coercive demands with human-inflicted torture and suffering.

The Catholic Church did that successfully for 800 years. That time period was known as the Dark Ages.

You are no different with hurling your gods like they are some king of Mafioso enforcers hired by you. Who do you think you're scaring with your cheap threats?

No. Fear and superstition is a product of ignorance. Gods do not control thunder and lightning nor did they make the earth flat.
Where did "ignorance" come from?
Describe the "un-natural". Provide some testable data for your your unnatural realms.

Identify one, single supernatural event that has ever occurred in human history.

"The Bible says" is not any sort of relevant argument.
It is if you regard the Bible as having non human origins.
You mistake your religious extremism for anything but another, garden variety hurling of gods and books of the dead of which there are many.
Where did "religious extremism" come from then? nature - so why blame people?

Would you blame a lion for being aggressive? would you blame a bird for an irritating squawk? would you blame a person for speaking about God?

You are lost, like a raft floating in a huge ocean, you have no bearings, no direction, every way you look you see the same thing, hopelessness and meaninglessness. Your anger at me is in fact anger at your own ignorance, one day this will dawn on you.

the unknown authors of the bible lived during a time of fear and superstition where knowledge of the natural world was limited and it was thought that angry gods controlled the ebb and flow of life. Natural forces were not understood and so it was easy to blame various gods for floods, illness, and natural events.

I'm still waiting for you to identify an unnatural event that has occurred in human history.

I'm actually quite comfortable in facing reality without your need to cower before angry gods.

I hadn't realized you were so helpless and rudderless without your angry "father figure" gods watchig over you because you're not able to exist without without a firm hand controlling you. Why do you feel your life is empty and without meaning without your religion?

As we see with the religious extremists in this thread, their religion instills fear and loathing for the infidel.

It's telling how angry and emotive religionists become when others don't accept their religious beliefs. Are believers in religions other than yours and the infidel, under demonic influence? That's a very large swath of people you will need to demonize. Do you hold that much hate?

You will deny how divisive, arrogant and insulting believers become when they believe demonic influence is the cause of others making adult decisions not coerced by your gods.

You're completely full of shit.

It's abundantly clear you have no science education.

Nor math, nor simple logic.

You should stick to your Bible and stay away from science. The scientists will hammer you, you'll be laughed out of the meeting.C
Vulgarity?

I guess I wounded you deeply.

Clearly you are not up to the debated.

Where did "religious extremism" come from then? answer: nature. So why do you fight against nature?

You ask me why? ask an evolutionist, I had no say in how I came to exist, none at all, in fact there is no "I" all there is is a huge collection of biological cells, that's what "me" is nothing more.

I suppose it was expected that a religionist would strip humanity of its uniqueness.
The human attribute you strip of its meaning is "sentience".
Humans have evolved (<---oh dear, I wrote that word), a brain that developed sentience and language skills. I believe it was Carl Sagan who popularized the term “sentience”, an ability to perceive one’s environment and their place in it. Our sentience is a product of more complex brains as opposed to other animals. Sentience, the sense of self-sacrifice, nurturing, decision making and making “moral” choices is a higher brain function and it's seen in comparably lesser degrees in lesser animals.

Did the gods choose to invent humans at a higher wattage vs. Chimpanzees for example?

What scientific argument do you have the shows that an evolved organism is not a product of nature?

Because if it is a product of nature then so are its actions and behaviors, they are all attributable to natural forces - do you agree?

Is there anything I can do that is not natural?

Be nice to have some answers to these questions from someone who purports to understand the subject.

I think its clear to both of us now, that you have trapped yourself, you have taken up a position that turns out to be paradoxical and that is always an error of reasoning (if you'd studied philosophy you'd understand this because a great deal of philosophy is about logic and the meaning of logic and the structure of arguments and so on).

You need to re-run your silly caims that various gods are responsible for "creation".

I'm still waiting for you to provide a single instance of an un-natual event ever taking place.
