It's not about being smart, it's about what kind of faith you want to have.
Islam and xtianity are proselytizing faiths. They want numbers. The more the merrier.
Both faith take great pride in vying for the title of "World's Largest Religion".
Judaism, on the other hand, has never been about getting butts into the pews. Judaism thrives in small communities that share culture customs and rituals. Judaism hasn't had a central hierarchy for about 2,000 years and there is no incentive to expand outside of our own natural population growth.
More important to the conversion process than learning to understand the texts and perform the rituals is the reason in your heart for wanting to convert to Judaism at all. That motivation will be examined all throughout your conversion process and those who are converting "for the wrong reasons" will be denied the conversion.
