he only is allowed one charge. sex discrimination. which this isn't. he needs to follow school rules or go somewhere else. this is waste of time and money.

I don't know why the kid would want to return to a place where it was made clear that he wasn't welcome for whatever reason.

God bless you and him always!!!

Holly

P.S. If there is anything that I have learned in my forty plus years, it is that the things that you want to forget end up being the things that you remember the most. :( :( :(

Self inflicted harm. You should have to qualify to be a parent.

Cut his fucking hair.
You mean white people hurting themselves by doing this stupid shit that's only going to end in lawsuits and payouts because as a people you're too much of a bitch to emotionally handle black hair? :dunno:

He has braids? That’s the issue? Should be allowed.

My catholic, boys highschool didn’t allow you to color your hair but I still did for years, dyed it black, and the teachers just let me, probably because I was a good student and was never In trouble.

no its the length. not the braids.

His black mother is the stupid and silly one causing all of this. She makes this dude look like a girl. That school did not want him there being a homosexual. A parent should NEVER EVER interfere with a child's education to prove a point. He was never denied entrance into a school. He was told to follow the rules in the handbook. His pathetic black mother did harm to him and messed up his education and his life. His mother checked him out of that school. He wants a judge to let him return to it. Judge said NO.... get lost! Learn to obey the rules.

He has already lost his case. He can no longer return to that particular school to harass that school district any more. He is a loser along with his pathetic black mother. More dumb democrats.

Judge denies an order sought by a Black student who was punished over his hair

HOUSTON (AP) — A federal judge on Friday denied a request by a Black high school student in Texas for a court order that the student’s lawyers say would have allowed him to return to his high school without fear of having his previous punishment over his hairstyle resume.

Fuck that.

In high school the head coach of the football team repeatedly told me I had to cut my hair and I repeatedly ignored him.

Then one day a few of us were at his house having a few beers and going over game films. The coaches and the captains. A strategy session. And he just flat out said "If you don't cut your hair, I'm going to cut you off the team".

I called his bluff. I retorted that he would lose his defensive & special teams captain and the only person on the team that could accurately and consistently longsnap the ball. And since I was the team leader, team morale would go to shit.

Then I pulled out the Trump card. I told him that if he cut me I would still play football, I would just be playing for the Panthers. Our arch rival.

He balked and barked that I lived in his team's district. And I pointed out the fact that my parents were divorced and had joint custody. I could change my address to my father's residence, which would put me in the Panthers' district.

He never complained about my hair again. It just got longer and longer over the years until it was down to my ass.

My teenage son had long hair, half way down his back, his choice, he cut it just before he started high school, but he could have long hair at his school, its a super, alternative school so anything goes. Kids have dreads and blue hair if they want. 😀

The district defends its dress code, saying its policies for students are meant to "teach grooming and hygiene, instill discipline, prevent disruption, avoid safety hazards and teach respect for authority."

The only part of that that would apply to this student's hair is "respect for authority."

Loss of respect for authority is not caused by a teenager wanting to wear his hair a certain way, but by a public school focusing on enforcing arbitrary rules rather than educating children.

Follow the school's rules.

At many of the high schools today students must hand over their cellphones before entering classes. They do so willingly.

This student and his mother refused to follow the rules. I know it was about his hair, but it's the same as one acting as if fire drill rules do not apply to them.

What's next? You can't wear sneakers unless they are a certain color? You can't wear a tee shirt unless it's a certain color? We used to wear afros and there were whites that had a problem with that as well.

You follow them, until you don't like them.

If only blacks had “just follow the rules“ during the time of Jim Crow. There would’ve been no racial problems at all.

Yes, there should be more of that. That’s a rule that affects everyone equally with a clear educational reason for it. I’m not saying there shouldn’t be any rules at all. I’m saying we need to rethink how white people approach rules for Black people hair.

Those are only the same in that they both use the word “rules” not following the rules for a fire drill will lead to deaths. Not following the hair code set by white people for Black people is unlikely to cause as much as a scratch.

Botton line is this,

You have a ton of rules to follow just to drive a vehicle, so follow the rules or get arrested. Follow the rules or you will kill a child while driving, Follow the rules or else you will have your license revoked.

Just follow the rules and stop acting like and idiot finding excuses as to why just you should violate them.
