The Second Amendment should have been abolished when America abandoned militias and moved to a standing army. The American Constitution lead to the Civil War and episodes of hyper partisanship and the current state of gridlock in Washington.

The American system of government has a long history of toxic and violent upheavals - the Civil War , Jim Crow laws and the KKK at the turn of the 20th Century, and anti-black violence of the 1920's, McCarthyism in the 1950's, racial unrest in the 1960's, and last year. The USA is currently on the verge of collapsing into fascist authoritarianism.

No other government in the first world has faced this level of violence, upheaval, or civil unrest since WWII. The US Constitution is simply not working for the American people and has been subverted by wealthy special interests using the propaganda organs provided by pop culture.

No, all the "modern document" means, is that for the 113 years prior Canada had little interest in domestic human rights, while America has protected theirs for over 275 years.

Thus, their Constitution has been proven to be defended and enacted for centuries and their citizens know their rights, are willing to risk their life for them. In Canada, ask someone about their Charter of Rights and they will put their hand up and walk away. Ignorant to our own rights on paper as we know in practice they aren't followed anyways.

Canadian police and their political enablers have destroyed our economy and global reputation. I did my part to warn Canada for a long time, now I prefer to make sure our allies know so that they don't emulate us, nor trust us.
