‘Complacent and lazy’: New focus groups spell big problems for Democrats
Even voters who previously backed Democrats cast the party as weak and overly focused on diversity and elites.

Democrats conducting post-mortems on their sweeping losses in 2024 are finding more reason for alarm. And the problem isn’t just Kamala Harris or Joe Biden.

In a trio of focus groups, even voters who previously backed Democrats cast the party as weak and overly focused on diversity and elites, according to research by the progressive group Navigator Research.

When asked to compare the Democratic Party to an animal, one participant compared the party to an ostrich because “they’ve got their heads in the sand and are absolutely committed to their own ideas, even when they’re failing.” Another likened them to koalas, who “are complacent and lazy about getting policy wins that we really need.” Democrats, another said, are “not a friend of the working class anymore.”

The voters see what has happened to the Democrat party under Obama and Biden. They have become the party of the rich elites.

At the end of the DNC Kamala Harris didn't stand with the working class, she stood with her millionaire and billionaire elite friends and donors, all chanting together, "We're not going back".

Ultimately, today’s Democrats are for the wealthy elite that vote with them. Crony Capitalism. Democrats depend on big money just like the so-called fat cat Republicans. Working Middle Class see right through Democrats’ smoke screen.

Biden tell a working-class dude to get lost

The reality is that Trump basically forced the GOP to no longer play the Dem and the medias games. The donor class was basically driven primarily to the Dems because Trump wasn't going to play silly games with his policies.

Just common sense that he remembered from the 1980s.

I read more than one of his books written about him when I was in high school he was the businessman everyone aspired to be with a cool last name which made him even more marketable.

When I heard he was running I thought he could just be a plant from another party. He himself probably wasn't fully sure if he had a shot which allowed him the freedom to just speak openly and without any political correctness. What did he have to lose when he was the longshot outsider? It probably helped him more than he expected.

The man basically started a global tidal wave. He knew that the silent majority who were being left behind and spit on could be brought under his tent. Slowly but surely, here we are.

He now has to succeed. The GOP have no excuses. They have the House, Senate, the S.C, the Presidency and the will of the people. If not for California, imagine how much more impressive his victory would have looked?

Democrats need to listen to people like Fetterman....

I can't understand why Democrats keep trotting out the same tired old celebrities. The Kamala-Oprah event in Michigan with all their A-list actors was nothing short of a disaster. No one with a vote that mattered gave a sh!t what Meryl Streep or Julia Roberts thought. That event reeked of we ARE NOT for Middle America and the working class. Donald Trump making french fries and running the drive through at McDonald's sent a much more powerful message to the working class than Kamala's A-list celebrities ever could. It's stunning how Trump got it so right and Kamala got it so wrong. But I'm sure Dems will trot out Bruce Springstein to sing another song in 2028.

That is a good analogy.
  • The GOP used to be committed to the ideas of Bob Dole, John McCain and George Will, except those were always failing, so reluctantly switched to the populist idea of Trump, and now we are winning, winning, winning!
  • The Democrats were committed to the ideas of Clinton, so went super-Clinton with Obumma and Hillary and finally, mega-Clinton with Biden. But after four years of abject failures and public angst, doubled down with the ultra-Clinton policies of Harris!
Now are firing people for disagreeing and vowing she ran the perfect campaign, it was all the MAGA-cult's fault and vow to triple-down with it and try again!!!
