If he had stayed up instead of going to bed 3 hours into a 7 hour fight, he might have an idea where the breakdown occured and would have had the chance to fix it before people died. I don't think they were in a position to help the Ambasador or the comupter specialist, but they damned sure could have helped the CIA folks. That is on Maobama's head, overall security is also.
