Bernie joins workers who serve food at the Capital in a nationwide strike, who wants the minimum wage raised to $15 an hour. Hillary has stated she would like to see the minimum wage raised to $12 an hour. Meanwhile, in New York, Governor Cuomo announced he will increase the minimum wage for state workers to $15 an hour. New York will be the first state to do so.
Woot woot!!!
The fact that Hillary and Bernie can't even agree on a set number for what min wage or a living wage should be tells the whole story. The whole issue is based on arbitrary numbers pulled directly out of their greedy welfare dependent base.
Go ahead and raise that min wage, like Seattle you will see over a length of time a slow deterioration. The truth usually lies somewhere inbetween, on one hand there are threats that if the min wage goes up employers will fire people and close shop... On the other side of the spectrum employee's claim they will make more and have a better life.
Reality is probably less people will have jobs as business cuts cost in one of the few areas it can (payroll) while those that still have the job will have to be the more productive employees but they will make slightly more.
Basically a net drag over time as less jobs equal less opportunity. Slightly more in pay means cost of living will drive upwards quicker than it wages stayed stagnate, meaning over time less people will be working for relative what they were making prior to the fake increase in wages while those that lost jobs will only be that much more behind and dependent on Welfare.
Once again this can only be based on the reality that our current and prior situations have produced.
