Yet another chink in the conservative "Leave him behind to die" armor..

PARIS (AP) — U.S. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has told people treating him at an American military medical facility in Germany that he was tortured, beaten and held in a cage by his Taliban captors in Afghanistan after he tried to escape, a senior U.S. official said Sunday.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss what Bergdahl has revealed about the conditions of his captivity. The New York Times first reported on the matter.

Both are relevant, but yes, examination of his "sudden departure" must be the first subject of inquiry.

Absence without leave[edit]

In the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada, military personnel will become AWOL (/ˈeɪwɒl/; U.S.: Absence Without Leave [1]) or AWL (U.K., Canada, and Australia: Absent Without Leave, AWL never AWOL.) if absent from their post without a valid pass or leave. The United States Marine Corps, United States Navy, and United States Coast Guard generally refer to this as Unauthorized Absence or UA. Personnel are dropped from their unit rolls after 30 days and then listed as deserters; however, as a matter of U.S. military law, desertion is not measured by time away from the unit, but rather:
by leaving or remaining absent from their unit, organization, or place of duty, where there has been a determined intent to not return;
if that intent is determined to be to avoid hazardous duty or shirk contractual obligation;
if they enlist or accept an appointment in the same or another branch of service without disclosing the fact that they have not been properly separated from current service.[2]

People who are away for more than 30 days but return voluntarily or indicate a credible intent to return may still be considered AWOL. Those who are away for fewer than 30 days but can credibly be shown to have no intent to return (for example, by joining the armed forces of another country) may nevertheless be tried for desertion. In rare occasions, they may be tried for treason if enough evidence is found.

Well, whether or not he's tried for treason and desertion is yet to come.

Usually they have to do it once he's available for trial, which he is now.

I figure Obama will refuse to allow it to happen, breaking yet another law....i.e. tampering with a court marshal.

Correct.

A person who has been captured by the enemy is not a deserter, unless it can be proven that he left in order to deliberately be captured.

Speaking of Chickenhawks: John Kerry stated this weekend that it doesn't matter that 5 terrorists are claiming they will go back to killing, and called it baloney. He said our troops are very effective, and these terrorists we had locked up will get killed by our troops. Still, I would love it if John Fucken Kerry had to hunt them down personally and risk his own neck.

My heart pumps.........

Well good.

You'd be in trouble if it stopped.

Trust me on this..

I guess you never heard of the expression.

My heart pumps purple-piss.

1.
My heart pumps piss
completely unsympathetic, showing no concern
lack of caring
heartless
My friend said, my heart pumps piss for you. You complain about your boss, while I have no job.

Let the US military justice system do it's job.

You know, it wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the usual Obama fluffers constantly making excuses for his incompetence.

If you people would face up to reality for once and admit this guy is a soup-sandwich and needs a bunch of slobbering sycophants to support his stupidity. The guy is a laughing-stock all over the world. A total disgrace. He needs your lies to be able to even function these days. The truth is too well known now.

Please point out to me where "Obama incompetence" as you like to call it (lol) had anything to do with

a.) Bowe Bergdahl being captured 5 years ago
b.) The Right screaming for a trade for him 3 years ago.
c.) The Right screaming AGAINST the trade once it happened.

Thank you for your kind attention in this very important matter.

And isn't a fluffer a dude who sucks a porn-star's cock real hard so he can be "up" for the next scene (which I find totally weird, but hey, ok...)? So, what is this Right-Wing looneybird obsession with gay blowjobs vis-a-vis politics?

Dude, that is weird.

Please do enlighten us. Thank you again for your kind attention in this very important matter.
