Musk's X has provided a revolution in media allowing access to news and events often filtered out by the mainstream media.

Caution however....X Will often present spectacular versions of events that have been embellished, altered and sometimes even completely misrepresented by the person or persons responsible for that entry.

I recommend waiting up to 48 hours before referencing information from X.... Recently an added feature of the forum reviews the spectacular postings and sorts out the verified from the unverified.

Final product usually ends up being somewhere in the middle. Best to wait.

X is nothing more than a conduit for rumors, fake news and disinformation.

It is Musk’s version of Pravda.

There's no question that there are a numerous propaganda posts.... However if not for X most of the USAID scandal would be unknown. There's no way the mainstream media would cover it with that kind of depth. So yeah it's a matter of taking the good with the bad.

Overanxious amateur journalists seeking spectacular headlines are tempted to replicate the first versions of those things that placate the strong tendency for confirmation bias. The same is true for many of the mainstream media outlets however. Best practice on this stuff just to wait and see how it ages probably over the next 48 hours after it's released. That usually clears up about 90% of the BS.

So, you are saying they are like CNN at times? ;)

On X the free speech sword cuts both ways....As it should....It's your job to pick and choose.

Discretion and patience....

X is also filled with Trump hate, musk hate and conservative hate....yet it is not filtered out or stymied.

I stay away from posting political podcasts, most are just sensationalist and self-serving dogma.

Yep...
Good rule ..

Look even on the plane crash story X was filled with alternative theories about who the pilot was and whether or not it was done on purpose so on and so forth.

Most of those things did not pan out and as of yet the Pentagon now headed up by Pete, has not released the name of the pilot. Who knows why?

The only real and tellable version eventually morphed out of all the spectacular accounts in about 3 days.

Much of it was made up by Musk.

How Elon Musk boosted false USAID conspiracy theories ...

1 day ago — Musk drove fringe viewpoints on USAID into the mainstream on X as the Trump administration halted the humanitarian relief agency's work.

Twitter used to be lovely then the DNC brigades ruined it, and now the conservative barbarians are destroying it. Was good while it lasted I suppose. They are the next yahoo---sure they still exist but they imploded just when they were predicting it would take over the world.

Never been on it personally.
I can't even access the links people put up.
All I see is the main post. Not becoming a member of X to see someone's link.

I am sort of like that with facebook. I pulled the plug on them 8 plus years ago and on twitter before Musk bought it when they started to force feeding paid content onto your feeds
