Basketball player Terry Rozier being investigated for point shaving

And it is so much more than just the point spread
With prop bets, there are so many seemingly insignificant things that can pay off.

Mr. Rozier earns $24.9 Million/year. How much money was he expecting to earn by point shaving that would make it worth the risk?

I could see unpaid college or high school players being tempted. Or someone earning a relative pittance. But this really boggles my mind. Did this fellow owe a lot of money to mobsters he couldn't repay?

Gambling is a disease that anyone can be afflicted by. Michael Jordan was a big gambler

Sports betting is out of control. Sooner or later this was bound to happen.

Nothing surprises me now. I've seen at least 3-4 NFL players now (without even looking for them) in recent years originally highly regarded when hired with great expectations, who greatly under-performed on the field, UNTIL THE LAST YEAR OF THEIR CONTRACT, then suddenly "found themselves," played like gangbusters to get a new, better contract, then slid back into their old ways, apparently saving themselves hoping to extend their careers.

One in particular that comes to mind was Bud Dupree. He was hired by the Steelers in 2015 I think as a defensive edge rusher but played for shit never making much of an effort until his last year, then he turned into a superstar. Unfortunately for him, he also injured he knee, couldn't finish out the year and got dropped. :71:

I would not believe it unless the guess does gamble and he is in serious debt. A star with his finances in order would gain nothing and have everything to lose. Now if you're talking college ball, then that is more vulnerable.
