Backlash After Arizona AG Says Stand-Your-Ground Laws Could Justify Killing ICE Agents
Arizona AG's comments spark outrage, raising concerns about ICE agent safety and self-defense laws.
This is a gross, dangerous misstatement of the law. You may not use self-defense laws against law enforcement during their conduct of official duties. Even if it later turns out that ICE agents, or any law enforcement agent, was acting outside the scope of their duties, you still are not authorized by ANY law to shoot them. YOU cannot make the determination as to whether law enforcement activity is legal or not. Only a judge of competent jurisdiction can make that determination. There is no judge in the field. You do not get to see a judge until later. Therefore, if you know someone is a law enforcement officer and he orders you to do something, you have a DUTY to obey.
The AG knows this. Thus, the only reasonable interpretation of her bizarre comment is SEDITION.
