It means more to the Aboriginal people than it does to Australians. In the end it really doesn't matter people are going to call it whatever they want.
 
Never heard of either one. But if it were up to me, I'd call it "Big ******* Hill Out In The Middle Of Nowhere."

why is that so.?
The aboriginal peoples consider it sacred, so the government no longer allows tourists to climb it.

It's owned by Aboriginals after an agreement with the government and they also own more than 50% of the land in Northern Territory that is largely barren and uninhabitable. Non-aboriginals are concentrated in Darwin. Aussies are really keen on respecting Aboriginals' land rights unlike South Africans. Sometimes there is too much respect for their culture.
