What changed? According to Orban, it was the return to the White House of President Donald Trump.
Gergely Gulyas, Orban’s chief of staff, told journalists that the change in administrations in Washington had lifted the “American boot” off the chest of the Hungarian government, making it easier “to breathe.”

The fascist right in the United States would have no problem with bookstores being fined for selling LGBTQ+ themed materials without sealed plastic wrappers and museum directors being fired for allowing minors into exhibits with images of same-sex couples.
That Trump is an inspiration to despots and dictators around the world is another indication of how shamefully low America has fallen under Trump.
