In Springfield Mo. We're getting some red and green. If you're north of me you should be getting the full monte.

It isn't low on the horizon here, twice already in has reached almost to the zenith. Once red, once green.

last time I saw them, a year ago or so it was a clear night and I was on my upper deck that points south and they were overhead

looked like radioactive rain falling, it was cool and yet kinds disturbing looking too

We don't get them down here very often. Last one I saw this bright was 20 years ago.

Apparently this one has reached to Texas...

wow that is a really eerie red glow...

for me it's black as the ace of spades outside, not even a single star
These things are really wierd. To the naked eye, we just see a slightly brighter sky, but when you take a photo with your phone, the colors are visible. The colors in MO's pics are much brighter though--he can probably see them pretty clearly.

It the sky looks a bit bright but you don't see colors, try taking a pic---the colors really come out then---sometimes even when you can't see them with the naked eye.

I wonder if you can just view it through your video camera on your phone? Not actually recording, but just open the app and see the colors through that?

My wife did that last night as her phone is better than mine. Was pretty intense last night in central MN. Best I've seen in years.
Supposed to be another show tonight.
