They are debating it now.I think on the whole I support this. The opponents seem to ne a rag tag army of religous nuts and trash like Boris Johnson and farage .

I do not want people like that deciding my future.

My only concern is that future tory govts will use it to kill people. We need to guard against that..

Are you talking about the abortion pill or has the Left now moved to killing people who are already born?

If you bothered to read the article you will see that there is sypport and opposition on all sides. But then you would need to master that reading thing.

I thought that the state has predetermined that if it is your body it is your right, unless you start discussing vaccines.

My only concern about it is that it requires the patient to administer the drugs themselves without assistance.

In the US, people self-administer the drug we call Fentanyl

It is a literal Tommy Tainant utopia as about 300 people die every day from it!! Not only do you get to die (yay), you get to do it feeling oh so good!!

All I can say is, the more Leftists that are elected the more of these meds we are going to need.

The terminally ill will be taking a cocktail of drugs every day anyway. But its not nice.

I think people should be able to die with dignity and not be required to suffer to the end.

I guess it makes sense that if you need to consent of the government on how to live your life as they try to dictate everything you do and say and think, you also need their consent on how you die.

Im watching the debate and the worst people in society are queueing up to show how sensitive and caring they are.
Its more than I can stand.

M concern is that some of these people may not be able to administer the meds themselves due to severe physical impairments. That is all. Sure people kill themselves every day. I personally don't see it is my business even if they are not terminally ill and decided they have just had enough. It could be someone with bipolar who is tired of the drugs or cycling between depressive episodes; could be someone who is just old and sees all their good years behind them and all bad years ahead of them; could be people with PTSD. I really don't care the reason why someone wants to do it. I am okay with them being able to do it in a planned way in a setting where someone doesn't have to come in and find them hanging from the ceiling or their brains splattered on the wall.

The bill if passed today will go to committee and then another vote before passing. It can be amended during this process. Maybe that is a genuine amendment

Speaking of caring about people, should Chloe Cole, the girl convinced by adults to get a gender change as a child and now regrets it as an adult and has said she wanted to kill herself afterwards, should society help her kill herself?

How exactly much do you care about people Tommy?

Do tell.

I think that suicide is often a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

End of life assistance should be given to those who are terminal and have no hope of recovery with no quality of life.

Was that a tear I saw?

Say, you really do care about people and not a mindless Left wing troll like Tommy. :D

Who knew?

But you still did not answer the question. Should society help end her life?

And what if she were still a minor? Should society help her end her life like they helped her remove her sexual organs as a minor?

Nice try at diverting the thread

Bill passes 330 - 275
A decent majority.
Well it went through, i have had mixed feelings about it but i have lost members of my family and friends over the years who were terminal includig both Parents, so i have seen it up close how some suffer and why should they, i lost my best mate just over a year ago who had a very active life outdoors hiking in the Dales and Scotland, the last few months i was visiting him most days for a chat and cup of tea about the times and fun we had from School and later in life, i saw him that year just before i went to France on Holiday when i got home he had gone into a Hospice i managed to visit him one last time he was out of it his Daughter was with him and he died just days later, he had no life near the end but not much pain because of the meds, so i would have voted in favour.
