It seems that Texas did not learn the lessons it needed to from 2021. It's natural gas system is still vulnerable to freezing temperatures. And it has not invested enough into new generation. One thing to note here is that there are now batteries that will last the night.

Maine is home to several major battery storage projects, including the largest multi-day energy storage system in the world, set to be built in Lincoln, and a significant battery project in Gorham.

If it isn't powered by petroleum, natural gas or coal, you damn sure ought to shut up about it, lest Trump find out and kill before coming online, but after vendors for equipment are paid, just like the huge wind project off the east coast, the week before Christmas, laying off thousands. Mind you, normal people are glad projects like the one you describe are going forward, but they had best go forward quietly, or trump will kill them after acquisition money is spent but before assembly and production can start. It is the new way of picking winners and losers in the Trump command economy, so keep it down.

BTW, how is California doing in assessing its next Palisades windy fire? Maybe assessing where the billions went for a highway they still haven't built?

I can't wait to see NYC assess the damage after a few years of Mamdani.

Funny you never focus on them.

You mean like Democrats have pushed wind and solar power only to find that Solyndra, Titan, and 36 others...
Major Bankruptcies & Project Closures: Orsted, a major offshore wind company, signaled it might walk away from projects in 2023, and by 2025, the industry saw major distress. Pine Gate Renewables, a major solar and storage developer, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2025, blaming in part the reversal of "clean energy tax credits".

Do you work for the white house full time or part time? Is posting here, what you are paid for? Are you planning to squelch information that 50% of startups fail within first 5 years?

Texas lived through this cold snap with no major problems

What's your point.

A grid failure. Batteries won't help that.

I remember King of the Hill did an episode about a “snow emergency” in their Texas town when I was a kid in the 90s

It was like an inch of snow and all the characters were panicking and skidding off the road.

Us Michigan kids thought it was hilarious

What a crock, where there were outages, it was due to distribution lines going down, not a lack of generation. I never lost power, can't say the same for 2021. I ran my generator for 12 days then. None this time.

Hey stupid! This thread is about the failure of Texas to get its power grid winterized.

Americans are so stupid when it comes to infrastructure, it's amazing that you have anything working there.

Nah!, I'm a Octogenarian sitting ar my computer calling out and exposing Democrat lies.
By the way, I forgot to include the wind generators that have been worn out or broken down that are now eyes sores to all that view them and when they did work killed birds in vast numbers.

Texas just doesn't care.

Texas is the "just don't spend money" state.

If people die, who cares?

So tell the class who died in this winter storm in TX. I will tell you there were a total of 9, 5 of whom were kids doing shit they shouldn't have been doing. And 4 homeless people died from exposure because they didn't go to warming centers. It's tragic, but all died because of decisions they made. The State or electrical power had nothing to do with any of them.

Ah yes, it's never the state's fault. Those kids who died in the flood, was their own ******* stupid mother ******* fault for going to a river in ******* **** you Texas.

We must overhaul the FCC and news sources. If dishonesty is used, prison and bankruptcy is mandated. The first amendment is usurped because people are not mentally acute enough to reject the propaganda. The same federal law enforcement that is under duress now, will do the work for the Prog Socialists on citizens when they come to power again. If Deplorables did the same as what Progressives do in the streets, we would have millions imprisoned in camps. The founding fathers did not expect carefully organized political subterfuge designed to replace the constitution they crafted with another one and a different political system. They did however warn us in a general way.

your TDS is worsening by the day .. you are becoming more unhinged as each week passes .. seek help ..

spend a trillion a year on your military and stop relying on the US to protect you .. the Somali fraudsters in Minn have sent nearly as much stolen cash to AL Shabaab as the Canucks spend on their own military ..

Or, I could just stop talking to you because you like states that put the safety of people last and making money first.

Is propaganda all you have. FYI, my electric provider has committed 65 billion for grid improvements. From what I understand other providers are doing the same. So perhaps you should do some research before you spew your garbage.
