Followed by another five minutes of descending flight at 65knots, ground speed, bleeding off altitude to 3000 feet.

Followed by about one minute of increasing ground speed to ~130 knots and altitude decreasing to 1600ft AGL.

In terrain where maps show ground level to be in the 450M to 600M range.

At night.

That looks like plane crash to me folks!
Maybe they turned off the transponder. Or maybe someone paid the pilot to nosedive it.

I am not in Syria. Israel has occupied the buffer zone. Russia and Putin will cease to be a power problem in Syria. People that faired better under Assad, should probably leave. Were you counting on Russia saving Assad's bacon, so to speak. You did not strike me as a Russia supporter.

Assad was the best Syria could hope for.
He was Shia in a Sunni majority, so had to compromise.
He balanced Saudi Arabian Sunni, Russians, US, Iran, etc.
With Assad gone, you are going to have a massacre.

Worst possible scenario.

Russia was the only balance against the colonial imperialists.
When we tried to install puppet dictators in China, Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, etc., Russia was the only one who stood up for freedom of these counties, at no gain for themselves.
I realize there is a huge amount of propaganda by the Pentagon, but isn't it obvious by now that the US government is not the good guys?

Russias only interest in Syria is a Naval Base and its a choke hold Strategic Location for the Back Sea. Same as Turkey.
