This is interesting because it is a question that was the subject of a theme I had to write in a sociology class in the 1960's. The assignment was to make us aware of the importance of culture and how it builds on itself to pass on things that make a better world for each succeeding generation. There were some good responses in that class and most centered on the fact that even if some technology survived no one would know how to rebuild it. So, society would quickly descend into a primitive state while tech turned to dust. The world would essentially reset to a cave state and we would all start over from the beginning. I really liked that class.

We wouldn't "reset" to a prehistoric state. The knowledge is there, and technology would not let go easily.

Really? You may get a chance to test that theory soon lol.
