Are President Trump's Tariffs forcing foreign nations to clamp down on some types of crime that can be exported to USA?

Are Trump's Tariffs forcing foreign nations to tighten up against drugs and terrorist activities?

I am Canadian and it sure does seem to me as if the President Donald J. Trump suggestion for Canada to become the fifty first state has resulted in some pretty serious discussions in the Canadian province of Alberta related to Alberta leaving Canada?

President Trump's talk of Tariffs on Canada forced Canada's ruling Liberal Party to fire Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and go looking for a new leader.

I also have read news items that indicate that Canada's Liberal government seems to be tightening up on certain types of crime that tend to be exported to the USA, [such as drugs and terrorist activities].

Will the Trump Tariffs soon lead to an administration in Ottawa that will NOT go one hundred and eighty degrees against President Trump after Canada's next federal election?

If the idea gets around that P. M. Mark Carney is forcing Albertans to be tempted to leave Canada then he is unlikely to be elected again in the next federal election.

As of January 2026, there is no active official government vote to establish a "
Republic of Western Canada
."However, a specific separatist initiative in Alberta is currently in the signature-collection phase to force a referendum.
Proponents must collect 177,732 signatures from eligible Alberta voters between January 3 and May 2, 2026.
If successful, the petition seeks to hold a referendum in October 2026 on the question: "Do you agree that the province of Alberta shall become a sovereign country and cease to be a province in Canada?".

True, but the way that P. M. Mark Carney is going he might just manage to anger Albertans even more than P. M. Justin Trudeau did?

From town halls to the ballot:

Alberta’s 120-day independence countdown

Nadine Wellwood, an advocate for independence, explains what's really going on at town hall events across Alberta, where advocates are seeking to collect 177,000 signatures in 120 days.
23 Jan 2026 ~~ By Sheila Gunn Reid

(Excerpt)
Wellwood breaks down why these events are filling rooms from Medicine Hat to Grande Prairie, and why the message is resonating with Albertans who are tired of Ottawa taking more, delivering less, and pretending Western alienation is imaginary.
It’s about timelines, legal mechanics, and what happens if the signature target is reached. Wellwood also dismantles the myths pushed by legacy media that insist this movement is “fringe” or unserious.
~Snip~
Ottawa’s been screwing the West for decades — Trudeau's carbon taxes, Carney’s smug elitism, and laws like Bill C-69 that sabotage our prosperity. The message from the East? Shut up, pay up, and stay in your place. We’re done with that. And we think you are too. That's why Rebel News is launching a campaign to give Albertans and the West a voice — and we need your help to kick it off. Please help us fund a province-wide poll on Alberta independence, emergency townhalls, and fearless journalism that tells the truth about how badly Ottawa treats the West. If you're fed up with being trampled by the Laurentian elite, chip in now. We’re not taking it anymore!

Commentary:
There is no other VIABLE path forward! Alberta First!!
Alberta will never realize her potential, under the yolk of liberal eastern governments. It’s just that simple. If you want to be free of liberalism and localism. Get behind the movement. First things first. Vote yourselves, free, whatever happens next you can deal with. A better day awaits a free Alberta.
Like the U.S., I’d be shocked if Canadian Gov't in Ottawa allows it. Some Judge born in India and migrated to Canada legislate and shoot down the referendum somehow.
Alberta is an oil, lumber, beef and farming cash cow...that support the other provinces

I am thinking that a lot of evidence can soon come out that will have some important people in Ottawa rather nervous.

If those Trump Tariffs lead to Mexico winning the war against the Drug Cartels then many nations will be impressed by how all of this is working out.

It appears to me that there is no way that President Trump could have encouraged the government of Mexico to take on the drug cartels if it were not for the threat of Tariffs?

The Trump administration obviously gave the government of Mexico good information but this operation was definitely done by the military and police of Mexico.

Mexico’s most-wanted drug leader killed in military operation as clashes erupt and US tourists told to shelter in place

Mexico City —
Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, the powerful and long-pursued head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and one of the world’s most-wanted traffickers, died following a Mexican military operation on Sunday, handing the country a consequential victory as it looks to show tangible results to the Trump administration.

Oseguera, a former police officer, led the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, or CJNG, as it became one of the “most powerful and ruthless criminal organizations” inside Mexico, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
