Are maga extremists just a tiny minority?

I've noticed recently in this forum that there is a regular clique of extremists who instinctively leap to defend trump no matter what he does, even when he posted abusive depictions of the Obama's this morning. I did some counting and find that the hard core posters are numbered only about 24 or so.

The bulk of racism, bigotry and support for state crimes is really just that small bunch, so are these extremists really just a speck of dust in the real world? the kind of people you very rarely run across in the outside world?

The site has 47,998 so these cult devotees represent about 0.05% of the user base, they are nothing, just extremist weirdos who post their hatred here because that's all they do with their lives.

One has to hope that what we see here is just the nastiest, most hateful, most aggressive, and most ignorant of the group, the most insulated of the cult. What percentage of the overall electoral population is that? Hard to say. Twenty percent, maybe? Ten percent? Which is horrific in itself.

I suspect there are still a lot of people across the political spectrum who haven't really come to terms with that. We very much want to believe our country is better than this, but I think the cat is out of the bag now. Globally.
