Some guy I know just got an iPod, I'd never heard of them before that.

/----/ I grew up with 45s and LPs but then 8 track came along and then cassettes. The switch to CDs was the last straw. I was tired of the ever changing formats. When the iPod came along I thought it was neat but I refused to buy my favorite recordings again, so I didn't get one. In addition, the first generation had non replaceable batteries and I thought that was a rip off.

Sad, but there are plenty of MP3 players out there. Like most Apple products; the iPod is great, but overpriced for what you get.

Hence why they are being discontinued! There are even rumbling of the iPhone going away in the near future which I think is hard to believe.
