I have tried it a few times and wasn't a huge fan of it, might have to try the new Jack-O'Lantern Ale.

I've recently taken a bit of a shine to this new Texas beer I discovered:

Shiner rocks!

ALDI Independence Harbor Amber Ale

Rock Wall Brewing Company, Rochester, NY
Style: Red Ale, American Amber (5.5%)

Aesthetically, this beer is clearly trying to evoke Samuel Adams Boston Lager with motifs of the American Revolution on the label. This beer was never an exact clone, as it’s an amber ale in contrast to its Vienna lager inspiration. The similarity between the two beers has been further complicated by the fact that Samuel Adams Boston Lager has been “remastered” as a golden American lager. Ironically, this means that Independence Harbor may be the better choice for those who enjoyed the original Sam Adams Boston Lager.

The part in bold is what I'm talking about.....The Sam Adams of today is not the Sam Adams of years ago.

I work in relatively fine dining in the Chicago area. Our restaurants contract with some of the local so-called "craft" breweries. I'm not really into alcohol, let alone beer, but I often hear how many of the breweries are not so much "craft" any more. I hear they have often cut corners, such as substituting cheaper ingredients and less quality assurance.

We have gotten into some German beers lately, but that is fairly new.

All of this reminds me of chocolate. I don't much care for brands like Hersheys. They are about average in my book. That doesn't mean you have to go to Switzerland either for good chocolate. I'm not always totally sold on organic, but the organic chocolate is far better to me.

Okay, I digressed. Have some choc with your beer.
