I was just having this discussion with my fiancée on the video phone. We're going to watch the 1999 version together (the biggest reason is because we love the name Annie and we would choose it for one of our daughters) with Alicia Morton and not the Aileen Quinn version.
Although I really like both versions (the 2014 one sucks as I never saw it and never will with black Annie and everything else looks horrible too for the record so not just because of the race swap, but that's the biggest one) I prefer the one with Alicia Morton because her relationship with Oliver/Daddy Warbucks in this movie doesn't seem as forced as the original.
Maybe that's just me, but that's just my opinion. Besides that, I like Alicia's voice a lot better than Aileen's and I love her version of Tomorrow as it's my favorite version at that!!
